[It's a weak defense. And, from the tone of her voice, Tryse knows it.]
I... can't ask that again. Every injury my team has, it's on me. Claudine and Aloy dying again, that's on me.
I'm sorry. I thought I could-
I'm sorry.
[She's silent for a moment. No, not entirely silent. There's a few sniffling noises. Someone trying to regain control. When she speaks again, her accent is a touch less notable. She's trying hard not to break down into Airi's ear.]
The point was made. No one else saw it, or was willing to do anything. Even afterwards, I haven't heard of anyone other than Korone approaching us to offer healing. No one came to me. No one came to Claudine.
Not even Mouse.
...No, that's wrong. There was someone from Snail. But he was here as a favor to someone Crow and Randy knew, because she hadn't heard from them, not because he cared about us or noticed what we'd tried to do.
I'm sorry your sister's here, Airi. I'm sorry she had the misfortune to meet me. I'm sorry she's on Robin's Egg and not Salamander.
I don't mean to be cruel. But I've done this before. The hoping. The sign seeking. It just hurts, in the end. Sometimes things are exactly the way they seem.
I trust you to take care of her. That's why I'm saying this. I think she was lucky to meet you. That she found someone who cares about her enough they might be able to get her to care about herself too. I should have said something sooner, but I didn't want to overstep. But if she won't advocate for herself, I have to do it for her. I need your help with that.
[ despite the seriousness of the conversation, she's done her best to keep her tone gentle. ]
Do I need to ask someone to over? We usually call someone.
No, it's... It probably needs to be said. Apparently everyone else realized that except me.
[Or maybe they're so broken by this place that-]
I'll try to stand for her. Recently... Well. I used our boon to enter her heart. With her permission. Saw what her emotional status was like. It was... not what was expected, but not as disastrous as when Egg attempted it on me, I think.
[She's a little quiet for the moment.]
I think we're past any non-magical help.
If you want to ask them to come by, do so. It'd be irresponsible of me to turn that down. But I've left out painkillers to everyone who can safely have them, several members of the team are engaging in self-care elsewhere, and Donatello's recovering from... Home surgery. I think the only major things left are... removing crystals from Claudine and myself, which will likely happen another day, trying to rebuild blood levels, which will take a few days, and handling my broken parts, which... I'm hoping I can get Claudine or Donatello to handle as soon as they stop hallucinating.
The able bodied team members are... outside, for our protection, I suppose. Claudine and Donatello are recovering. Aloy is... Aloy is where she feels safest.
It's just me. And I'm mostly done. Donatello was unhappy and has a device of his to try to keep me from opening the door again. And I can't walk up the stairs anymore, so there's no need to worry.
[Dinner will be an adventure, unless Randy gets back and isn't hallucinating. Egg doesn't have much in the way of pre cooked meals.]
I'm in Egg's common room. I was answering the door until Donatello found out and sent down a copy of his spidershell to do it for me. I'm still here to talk to people who answer.
No one helped me in the temple. I was alone. I couldn't see, couldn't speak. Randy had been there for a moment, but left to handle something. He was the only person who so much as spoke to me. No one else spared me a second thought.
Raphael was gone. Aloy was gone. Crow was gone. Adora was gone. Claudine was gone. Donatello... thought I was an enemy and forced me away. So I walked to Egg's house, laid out my medicines and painkillers for everyone, and went to recover at the stuffed animal ruins. Donatello took offense to my absence and dragged me back with the spidershell, explaining that people were having mental troubles.
...It turns out that I'd abandoned Claudine. I couldn't see her. She nearly died making it back home.
[That's not going to linger.]
But after I'd returned to Robin's Egg, it was just myself, Donatello, and Claudine. And both of them were hallucinating. So when someone from Snail dropped by to check on Crow and Randy, I was the only one who could answer. I couldn't just leave it.
But what if it was a guest? Or someone offering medicine?
[It's really a good thing that Salamander or Egg are right next to each other. Then again, that does mean that Airi gets to see Tryse, in Arthur's body, trying to push a spidershell away from the door with a leggy so that she can answer it first.
He gets testy about that, sorry. I had to explain to him that Aloy was scanning his technology on accident because he wasn't happy about that. Easy to do with a Focus, right?
Apparently people have abused his constructions before or something.

Don't worry. They were the only one to knock.
